Physical Illness

Hi Everyone

I am just getting over a really horrible physical illness which started suddenly on Sunday afternoon.

I had a really awful fever and heart palpitations. I was scared I was going to die and became quite anxious. I asked people to pray and took some valium to settle my anxiety.

All of the rest of Sunday I sat on my bed with the fan next to me, in my underwear with a moist towel. I also took some paracetomal.

The next day I was still weak and feverish so I stayed home from school. Today I am a little better but I'm weak so I decided to take another day off.

I feel a bit depressed which always happens when I get sick physically.

For all those reading please pray that I return to school tomorrow and don't get worse physically or mentally.

Thanks and God Bless

Amber

  5. I can sympathize. Inactivity can make me feel depressed too, even if it has a logical cause such as being physically ill. I hope that you feel better soon. Take care of yourself. :-)

P.S. Thanks for the thoughtful comment on my blog!

  6. Yeah - thanks for your comment.

I hope I am well enough to get back into things tomorrow and that I don't slide further into depression.

    Keep up the blogging.

  7. Greetings Amber!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope by time you read this you will be feeling better. I've read some of your post. We have many like interest, our Lord, reading, writing, and mental health issues.

I've worked in the mental health field for the past 15 years primarily on the Chemical Dependency unit. We get many dual diagnoised patients.

I too have had battles with depression. If truth be known, most of us have had bouts with mental illness. Thankfully, mental illness does not have the stigma it once had.

Blessings to you and I will be back to visit!

  8. Thanks for your comments.

I am feeling a little better and hope to go back to school tomorrow.

Mental illness still has some stigma, I think, but in Christian circles it has got a lot better.

  12. Hi Amber! I do pray that you are feeling better! Thanks for your comment, that is probably one of my favorite quotes of C.S. Lewis's, but then again, it's so hard to choose just one! :) The Chronicles of Narnia are probably the first novels I ever read, and will always be my favorite. Every teen I have come in to my library, I make sure they've read them at some point! :)

The professionalism bit is easier said than done, lol. I would love to say I'd go straight for option three, but it's so difficult in this world, especially as a technical government employee (I work for a city) but I am anxious to find encouragement from those essays that will give me the strength and courage to go all out!!!

Nice to meet you, and stop by again!

  13. Thanks Sarah

Getting children to read Narnia is awesome.

I have four younger sisters and I gave them all Narnia at one stage - they are now all fans!

    God Bless
